Luxe Next In Design 99 honorees and Southeast designers Whitney McGregor and Hannah Ozburn share the inspiration and process behind buzzworthy spaces they created.

Based in Greenville, South Carolina, Luxe Next In Design 99 honoree Whitney McGregor is gaining recognition for her ability to blend traditional design elements with the unique and personalized preferences of her clients—while always honoring the home’s existing bones and distinctive character. Here, she tells us more.
The inspo: I always take my inspiration my clients. These owners are chic young professionals who have lived and traveled interesting places. They love to entertain frequently so we needed lots of seating and a bar, of course, in this living room.
The palette: It’s a combination of all of my favorite things living together harmoniously. A balance of patterns, solids, saturated colors, textures and interesting forms. It is a testament to my motto—buy what you love, and it will all work together. It’s all about the mix!
The stars: The wall is painted Farrow and Ball’s Mahogany, the shade is a Bunny Williams for Lee Jofa material, the sofa wears Schumacher’s Woodland Silhouette fabric, the rug is Stark.
The takeaway: Break it up. Divide your living spaces into smaller groupings—it’s much cozier and more approachable. Place a large rug just a few inches off the wall so that you can maximize the perceived usable space and make the room appear larger. And have fun with it!

Noted for her vibrant use of color, intricate patterns and whimsical details, Charlotte-based designer Hannah Ozburn masterfully combines traditional with modern to create captivating and memorable spaces. Her innovative approach results in interiors that are as visually striking as they are harmonious. Read on as the Luxe Next In Design 99 talent shares the details.
The inspo: This dining room is centrally located in the home, so I wanted to make sure the colors flowed well together.
The palette: There is a similar palette of corals and greens in the adjacent living room, so it works nicely with that space.
The stars: I fell in love with so many pieces in the room. The Lake August wallpaper is one of my favorites, as well as the abstract Kelly Wearstler Graffito fabric. I love the juxtaposition of the geometric print with the floral pattern in the background. The chairs are from 1stdibs; the captain’s chairs are from Highland House. The Clarence House chevron velvet fabric is so glamorous and ties everything together. The table is custom made from Doorman Designs. The light fixture is from Visual Comfort & Co. The rug is from Stark.
