There’s a new kid on the block at the Seattle Design Center, and it’s also one of the industry’s oldest heritage brands. The Pacific Northwest’s largest and most well-known design hub welcomes Schumacher, which was founded in 1889 and continues to be a favorite among the design set. The venerable textile company’s new Northwest outpost showcases the best of their rugs, wallcoverings, fabrics and soft goods. “Seattle has been on our radar for a while,” says Schumacher President Emily Romero. “The blend of unique design and connection to nature in the Pacific Northwest feels like a perfect complement to our portfolio.” Along with offerings from the brand’s signature collections, visitors will find a smattering of regionally curated sections, including one dedicated to alpine living. The brand has a roster of events and workshops planned for the space, introducing a new jolt of energy to the Seattle design scene. “We’re excited to bring Seattle a fresh perspective on our portfolio,” Romero says. “Our showroom is designed to inspire.”
