Jaima Brown Emmert, creative stylist and founder of Daisy Bennett, is known for her statement-making wallcoverings that ooze vibrant colors and modern twists on classic patterns. She showcases these designs at her Naples home—aptly named “Maison de Motif,” which means “House of Print” in French. Below, she delves into her Mural Collection, boasting 14 distinct designs in an array of colors, and why she believes wallpaper is essential in creating a happy home.

Tell us about the new releases. The Mural Collection is a harmonious blend of East-meets-West design aesthetics, infusing novelty into even the most refined patterns, resulting in an intriguing fusion of whimsy and sophistication. It spans a wide spectrum, from the opulence of tropical foliage to the allure of exotic cheetahs; the delicate beauty of butterflies to the intricate tapestry of vining leaves. These designs mirror my deep affection for nature and a vibrant palette.

What are your favorite designs? The Chinoiserie Blossom Mural stands out as a cherished favorite, drawing inspiration from my mother’s Japanese peonies and tea roses as well as my own lemon tree and my African Grey parrot, Lily. And the Heron Mural paints a serene picture of lakeside life inspired from my back garden, where tall herons share the stage with sunbathing turtles by the lake.

What keeps you inspired? My inspiration comes from many places like fashion, jewelry, movies, old wallpapers, travel, nature and art exhibits. I love visiting botanical gardens and flower shows to stay updated on the latest trends and styles. Antique wallpaper documents also inspire my designs, allowing me to blend old ideas with modern lifestyles. I’m particularly fond of the playful wallcoverings from the 1950s and ’60s, and I try to infuse that spirit into my work.
