Amanda Reynal Lilly Pulitzer Room Kips Bay Show House 2025

Designers have been championing a return to color for years, but if you're looking for a masterclass in the fearless use of saturated hues, patterns and textures, look no further than the Kips Bay Decorator Show House Palm Beach 2025. Known for its bold designs and playful spaces, the showcase takes it up a notch this year—from richly patterned bedroom suites to a Lilly Pulitzer-inspired room, and a variety of lush outdoor spaces designed for lingering, whether with a lively cocktail or a cozy cappuccino. The takeaway? Design confidently—with details and accessories that spark joy. Here is a sampling of standout spaces that captured our attention.

The Ultimate Mood Shift

Assigned two hallways connected by a staircase, Nikki Levy embraces a botanical motif full of personality. Using oversized floral patterns from her rug collection with Ruggle Up, the Boca Raton-based designer crafts a plush, cloud-like walkway that begins just past the entry and winds up the staircase, as colors shift from romantic blush tones to melancholic teals and blues. Dotted by furnishings and moldings upholstered in Kravet Couture and Altuzarra fabrics, the space—what Levy calls a "mood ring" of color—features striking artistic moments, including murals on ceilings and walls that depict different worlds. “The interplay of delicate and strong, gentle and powerful, feminine and masculine reflects my personality, creating a space as authentic as the journey itself,” she says.

Jumping For Joy

To the right of the hallway, guests are transported to what—dare we say—may be the quintessential Palm Beach retreat. Enveloped in Lee Jofa’s fabric and wallcovering collection for Lilly Pulitzer, launching this spring, the space—aptly named “The Lilly Pad”—invites guests to embrace the laid-back elegance of both the heritage brand and the island itself. Filled with subtle nods to Lilly Pulitzer's sartorial elements, the space comes alive with Kelly green curtains and subtle showcases of the brand's signature lace trim. A sculptural chandelier by Currey & Company adds to the mix of soft naturals and organic materials throughout. Designer Amanda Reynal, now a Palm Beach local, aimed to honor the brand with touches like artwork and photography by Pulitzer’s family members, while creating a lived-in feel that steers clear of anything overly kitschy.

Burgundy Bliss

It’s easy to imagine stepping into this sumptuous kitchen, swathed in rich burgundies and reds, to savor your morning espresso before starting the day. Anchored by an impressive island with fluted details, the space showcases custom cabinetry by Fabuwood with hardware from Classic Brass. The use of Benjamin Moore's Townsend Harbor Brown throughout is complemented by a Dekton countertop from Cosentino and a Calacatta Viola marble backsplash supplied by Armina Stone. Designed by Rajni Alex Design, the kitchen effortlessly combines luxury with functionality, thanks to its luscious color palette, premium finishes and sleek JennAir appliances.

Double Down On Deco

For a multi-functional gathering space that fosters both competition and conversation, look no further than "Deco Oasis" by Marshall Watson & Reid Deane Ganes. This spacious living room is anchored by a custom-tiled fireplace, flanked by Art Deco chests from Vaughan, and thoughtfully appointed with a decoupage backgammon table and dining table from Bamboo & Rattan. Abstract, geometric wallpaper from Iksel nods to the island’s iconic palm motifs, while organic materials—like jute accessories and a hand-stenciled sisal rug from Patterson Flynn—lend an elevated yet relaxed feel. Don’t call it eclectic—it’s a lesson in effortless elegance.

If Walls Could Talk

As Chicago-based designer Erin Shakoor puts it, this space is "a journey of textures"—and she’s not kiddng. Dubbed "The Continuum," this combined sitting room and powder room off the entry is a moody retreat elevated by tactile wallcoverings that exude sensuality. To complement the sitting room's circular shape, the Phillip Jeffries wallcoverings are installed horizontally, adding depth and visual intrigue. A sculptural Nick Missel chair from Wexler Gallery further enhances the room's artistic vibe. The powder room features a striking geometric focal wall with tiles by Duo by Alison Rose from Artistic Tile, adding a modern touch to the space.

A Dapper Hideaway

Step into this pattern-filled bedroom suite, where rich colors and bold prints channel the refined charm of a "Gentleman’s Retreat." Using fabrics and wallpapers from her Winter 2025 collection, Mally Skok envelops the space in a mix of reds, blues, stripes and botanicals, balancing a masculine aesthetic with globally inspired flair. Playful touches, like thrifted artwork above the bed, which is dressed in custom Pioneer Linens, add character, while a well-stocked bar invites relaxation. The effortlessly cozy atmosphere sets the stage for the ultimate (literal) Netflix-and-chill retreat. In the adjoining bath, simplicity meets vibrancy with Kohler vanities, sleek fittings, and Artistic Tile selections that seamlessly tie into the suite’s color palette.

From Dawn 'Til Dusk

Designed to evoke the emotions we seek throughout the day, the primary bedroom by David Mitchell Brown uses a thoughtful color palette of blues and creams to mirror the day’s progression. The bright blooms in a silk mural by Phillip Jeffries near the window aim to capture the energy of the morning, while warm creams and wood on the opposite wall, complemented by a wall-to-wall carpet from Sacco, bring a sense of calm for the evening. The Palm Beach-based designer doesn’t skimp on the details. Case in point: A delicious custom scalloped bedskirt peeks from the underside of the bed, outfitted in Pioneer Linens. Clever design choices, like encased drapery around the bed, also allow the room’s original architecture to truly shine.

Fit For Royale-ty

In the primary suite, a decidedly feminine space by Caroline Gidiere pays homage to the bygone era of the island's social scene—with a contemporary twist. Dubbed "The Ladies Club of Palm Beach," the room seamlessly blends elements from the Casa Branca collection with antique treasures, all anchored by a show-stopping shell mirror that reflects views of the Intracoastal waterway, framed by custom drapery from The Shade Store. Pops of pink, yellow and green enliven the space, which Gidiere says also took inspiration from Apple TV+'s "Palm Royale." Thoughtfully designed nooks invite guests to pen letters or craft a pre-dinner cocktail, making the space as functional as it is charming.

Bringing The Inside Out

Not one to shy away from color, Meg Lonergan expertly embraces her expansive outdoor loggia with a playful spirit, aiming to bring the indoors out. Draped in Sunbrella and Kravet fabrics, fabricated by The Shade Store, the space fosters a sense of camaraderie. A charming (and perfectly pink) dining area overlooks the lush gardens, while an equally elevated gaming section features a statement ping-pong table from Aronson Woodworks. The outdoor kitchen is outfitted with mosaics and a slab countertop from Artistic Tile, and outdoor furniture by McKinnon & Harris creates inviting areas of respite throughout the space.

Mixing Prints Poolside

Hailing from Tampa, Florida, the duo behind Oxford Design transformed the lanai with a mix of vibrant prints and a mission to break the rules—in the best possible way. Outfitting the poolside space with lighting from Vaughan, playful lampshades and fabrics designed to withstand the outdoor elements, Tate Casper and Jordan Winston expertly mixed patterns to create inviting pockets where guests can gather for conversation, enjoy drinks, or relax under an umbrella with a good book.
